Rachael’s Bridal Session

A couple of weeks after Rachael & Justin’s wedding I got the chance to get together with Rachael to do a fun bridal session.  I love doing bridal sessions after the wedding because we don’t have to worry about getting the wedding dress dirty…much more relaxed and fun! Here are a few of my favorite images from the session!

I love this sequence!  I’m not sure why, but I love shooting half-face images.

After we got done at the park with the more traditional stuff (well, as traditional as we get anyway), we headed over to the warehouse area we have access to and shot some images there.  These ended up being my favorites!

Thanks for being such a good sport, Rachael!  It was fun!

Much love,

Heather

Rachael & Justin – Married!!

We had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Rachael & Justin a few weeks ago.  These two were so much fun, and their family and friends were all fabulous.  I just loved the small, older church they got married in down in Bonaire, Georgia.  I love old buildings, so this just made me happy!

Rachael’s mom Terrie ties her bow…one last touch!

I just love this silhouette shot that Kenneth got!

Ok, these next two pictures aren’t shots I would normally put on the blog, but the story is pretty nifty.  I took the shot of Rachael talking on her cellphone to Justin.  The next picture down is the shot Kenneth took of Justin talking to Rachael on his cellphone.  It just made me all happy to realize that we photographed both sides at the same time…teamwork!

Doesn’t Rachael look radiant? This little guy was so stinkin’ cute!

Poor dad…nothing like having to give away your little girl!

Rachael’s expression while she said her vows was just so sweet!First kiss!  What I really love about this image is the little flower girl in the lower left…check out the look on her face! Too cute!Yay – they’re married!!

Love love love the connection in this shot!

Yummy…nothing like peer pressure to get a guy to remove the garter with his mouth! :D

Rachael & Justin, thank you both so much for having us photograph your wedding!  We enjoyed every minute!  Best wishes on your life together and safe travels on the way to Korea!

Much love,

Heather

Photoshop Conference in Atlanta

Hey everyone!  I had a fun and educational day yesterday.  Neal Carpenter of iNward Studio, Jenny Prater of Jenny Evelyn Photography and myself hopped in my car yesterday morning and headed to Atlanta (they braved my driving :D ).  We went to an Adobe Photoshop Seminar hosted by NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and taught by the funniest photoshop guru I’ve ever heard, Dave Cross.  I know that probably sounds boring, but it was actually really interesting!  I learned some new things and had a great time hanging out with Jenny & Neal.  We had an awesome lunch at PF Changs and after then after the conference went to IKEA to ‘window’ shop and I got a new photo shelf for the studio.  So, check us out!  Aren’t we cute?  LOL!  I’m blaming Neal for the poor quality of the photo – it was taken on his iPhone.  I refuse to photoshop myself in an image taken on a camera phone, so you guys are seeing me in all of my ‘I only slept for three hours’ glory hahah!

Coming up next, Rachael & Justin’s wedding, & Rachael’s bridal session!

Much love to all!

The Old Blog

I know some of you might be finding our blog for the first time, and there isn’t much content here yet (although I’m going to be adding a bunch of new entries within the next week), so if that’s the case and you would like to see some of our past blog entries, please hop over and take a look at our old blog.  You can visit the old blog at http://khmason.bigfolioblog.com

Eventually I may take on the task of moving some of the old content over to this blog, but for right now I’m more worried about posting new content!

I hope you all like the new format as much as we do!

Much love to all, Heather

Jennifer & Brad – Married!

I can’t think of a better way to kick off our new blog than sharing the wedding of Jennifer & Brad with all of you.  This wedding was special in so many ways!  Brad has been overseas for most of their engagement, so we had never gotten the chance to meet him.  I just knew that I was going to love working with Jennifer as soon as we met.  I was happy to see that Brad seems to be a very fitting husband for such an amazing woman!

To give you a bit of background on their story, Brad and Jennifer have known each other forever.  They grew up in the town of Ftizgerald, attended the same church, and Brad gave Jennifer rides home when she was young.  Fortunately, when they got older some matchmaking relatives got involved, and presto, an awesome couple was formed!  So, on with the pictures!

Isn’t the detail on Jennifer’s dress gorgeous?  These shoes are awesome, and I was quite impressed that Jennifer could walk in them…I’m pretty sure I would fall within the first 10 seconds I had them on!

Isn’t Jennifer gorgeous!?!

This is my absolutely favorite portrait of Jennifer & Brad together!  The crazy thing?  They are standing in a little non-descript corner of a hallway in the church.  A lesson there for our upcoming brides – if I ask you to stand somewhere that seems crazy, do it anyway!  Great light = great pictures!

I just love personalized touches.  The top white garter Jennifer is wearing was made from lace taken from her mother Sharron’s wedding dress, and was sewn by Jennifer’s grandmother.  It’s so nice when a bit of family heritage can be included in a wedding!

Jennifer just BEAMED as the walked down the aisle!

Kenneth took this shot from the balcony.  What you can’t see is how many people were packed into the church.  There were people standing along all of the back walls, and the entire balcony was full as well.  I’m fairly certain that this ended up being the most number of guests we’ve seen at any of our weddings.  I think the entire town of Fitzgerald came out to support these two great people! There was a lot of sniffling and tears of joy when they said their vows.

Jennifer’s expression says it all!

There was an awesome table at the reception that was a candy bar…I thought these huge lollipops were a really nice touch (and the kids were loving them)!

First dance…look at the joy!

Jennifer had to show off her dance moves :D

The getaway!  Notice the swords arched in the background?  The groomsmen bought Nerf swords for their own style of military salute hahaha!

I just have to add this comment here – I have never in my life seen so much birdseed!  I spent most of the ride home getting it out of my hair, and got home to discover that it had worked it’s way into places best left unmentioned in mixed company! hahaha!

Jennifer & Brad – we had an amazing time photographing your wedding and we can’t wait to share the rest of your images with you!  We wish you both the very best that life has to offer!

Much love, Kenneth & Heather
