Jolee & Matt – Married!!

A beautiful summer day, a gorgeous bride, handsome groom, great family & friends, and unbelievable details – Jolee & Matt’s wedding had all of these things, and it was fabulous! Jolee & Matt got married at Jolee’s parents’ home in Forsyth, GA. You might recognize them from their engagement photos posted a little while back.

I have to give big props, thumbs up, applause, cheers, and hoorays to a couple of my favorite vendors who did a fantastic job on this wedding. We seriously had the dream team at this wedding! First, Carmen Johnston of Nectar & Co did an AMAZING job on the flowers…she also put some really cool antique pieces to use. Collaborating with Jolee & her mom, she used vintage desks, tables, stained glass windows, egg cups, and more to decorate the space. Totally gorgeous! Secondly, Lisa Shepley of Lisa Mae Cakes created a gorgeous cake complete with fresh flowers and butterflies made from gumpaste. Third, Natalia’s did a fantastic job catering – the food was delicious! Last but not least, the Hudson Road Band did a great job keeping the crowd partying all night!

Here are a couple of collages showing some of the gorgeous details at this wedding:

Now, for a few of our favorite images from the day!  It was a HOT…and I do mean HOT day, so we did some of Jolee’s portraits inside.  I loved the way this one turned out – so classic!

The home of Jolee’s parents made for a beautiful location !

I loved this image Kenneth captured during the reception!

Of course, we had to do some night shots!

And now for the slideshow!!

Jolee & Matt – we loved working with you and both of your families!  It was such a pleasure, and we can’t wait to share the rest of your images with you!  Coming soon!

Carlee is 1 – Portrait

I can’t believe that Carlee is already a year old!  You might remember that I was there when she was born,  and it has been so much fun seeing her grow and photographing the different stages she’s gone through.  Her mother, Lindsey, and I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous spring weather and the cherry blossom trees blooming for her session.  I hope you enjoy seeing how baby Carlee has grown into a little girl!

I hope you all enjoyed the pictures! I love sessions like this…where we just go play in the park, and get some great images full of personality as a result!

Much love to all!

The Best of Weddings 2009 Contest!!

After an incredible year, Kenneth and I are feeling so thankful for our amazing clients, great friends, and supportive family.  We traveled all over the South East photographing fantastic weddings, and we wanted to show some of our favorite images of the year. We came up with the fun idea of turning it into a contest so that one of our clients can win a cool prize!  So, here are the rules:

There will be a number above each image.  In order to vote, you choose the number of your favorite image and post it in a comment at the bottom of this blog post.  Only one vote per person, please!  No anonymous votes are allowed, but please be assured that we won’t be selling your email address or anything cheesy like that. :) The voting starts now, and will end on Friday, February 5th at 11:59pm. You have one week to cast your vote for your favorite image!

Of course, with every contest, there must be a PRIZE!  So, the winner of the contest will receive one 16×20 wall print of their choice from their wedding (it doesn’t have to be the winning image).  Woohoo!

As many of our clients know, Kenneth and I have a bit of a competition between ourselves about who gets the best shot at each wedding. So, one of us will be winning bragging rights for the rest of the year. :D We had a hard time narrowing it down to these 23 images, so we look forward to seeing which image touches your heart!

So, with all of that out of the way, here are some of our favorite wedding images from 2009…we hope you enjoy them!

Jada & J.C. – Married!!

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Jada and J.C. right here in our hometown of Macon, Georgia.  The ceremony was at the gorgeous St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the reception was at The Armory Ballroom. Both were stunning venues, and served as fantastic settings for Jada & J.C.’s fabulous wedding!

Jada and J.C. have been together for 10 years, so it was a huge celebration as they made it official. J.C. is a baseball player and played for the Macon Braves, which is how these two lovebirds met. He’s originally from Venezuela, and it was exciting to see how many of his family members traveled all that way to be present at the wedding. Jada had some special touches of her own…I was totally in love with her wedding gown, but then she put the icing on the cake with a pair of leopard print high heels! I LOVE it when brides wear colorful and unusual shoes. The tear jerker of the evening – Jada had songs played and sang to honor her grandparents and her mother. There was a lot of sniffling going on!

Ok, enough of my rambling…on with the pictures, and as always, click the link at the bottom of the post to see the slideshow!

As you can see, Jada was stunning!

St. Joseph’s is a really beautiful building…I loved the reflection in the marble floor!

I loved the way the lights looked during Jada and J.C.’s first dance…there’s nothing like professional uplighting to really show off a venue!

The Armory Ballroom looked absolutely amazing with the lights!

Have you noticed that we love doing night shots?  Dark is the enemy of most photographers, but we LOVE it.  This is one of my favorite groom portraits ever…I told J.C. to look at me like he was ready to KILL me.  Bam – pure drama!

One more night shot to close the post…this is our favorite shot from the day, and is now a HUGE print in our studio!

To see more of this awesome wedding, including the gorgeous decorations, check out the slideshow by CLICKING HERE.

Jada and J.C., thank you both so much for choosing us to photograph your wedding!  It was a huge honor to be part of the celebration!

Much love,
Heather & Kenneth Mason
